New World Coffee from Angelandia, Northern Minas Gerais, Brazil
- Altitude: 1,200 Meters Above Sea Level (3,900 feet)
- Process: Natural
- Notes: Caramel, chocolate
Winner of the prestigious Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award, we are bringing another bean from our roaster Paula Lima’s family farm in Minas Gerais, Brazil. During the 3 years Paula spent at the farm, her main focus was improving sustainability practices and bringing new coffee varieties and processing techniques.
This hand-picked coffee comes from Sequoia’s Catuai coffee variety. Catuai means ‘very good’ in the Guarani language - an understatement in describing the sweet notes of this exquisite coffee. The coffee was dried on raised beds and turned by hand to ensure even processing. The decadent tasting notes for this coffee are sweet caramel and chocolate with balanced acidity and full body.
